Who you are dealing with
The notices on this site are published by Lehigh Daily. They decide what runs, they set the prices, and they are who you are buying from. Odewell is the software they publish with — we run the site and handle the payment, and we are not the publisher.
That distinction matters when something goes wrong. Anything about the words, the decision to run a notice, the price, or a refund is Lehigh Daily's. Anything about the site itself not working is ours.
Placing a notice
Anyone may submit. Nothing you write appears on this site until somebody at Lehigh Daily has read it and approved it — there is no exception to that and no way to skip it.
An editor may correct a notice before it runs, and may decline one. If a notice is declined and you paid for it, that payment is refunded in full and you are emailed the reason.
By submitting, you are telling Lehigh Daily that:
- you have the standing to place this notice, and the family's agreement if it is not your own;
- what you have written is true so far as you know it;
- the words and any photograph are yours to give, or you have permission to give them.
Paying
The price you are shown before you pay is the price you pay. It is fixed onto the notice at that moment: if Lehigh Daily changes its rates afterwards, what you already bought is not re-priced.
Cards are handled by Stripe. The money goes to Lehigh Daily's own account, Odewell takes its share at that moment, and neither of us ever sees your card number.
Refunds
A declined notice is refunded automatically. Beyond that, refunds are Lehigh Daily's decision — ask them, and if they agree, they can issue one from their desk. A refund does not by itself take a published notice off the site, and taking a notice off the site is not by itself a refund; they are two decisions.
What stays up, and for how long
A published notice is meant to stay readable. Lehigh Daily can take one off the site, and can put it back. If you need a published notice changed or removed, write to them.
The guestbook
Anything a reader writes on a notice is held until an editor approves it, the same as a notice. Lehigh Daily may decline any entry without giving a reason, and may remove one later.
When the site is down
We aim to keep it up and we do not promise it always will be. If the site is unavailable, notices already published are not lost — nothing here is deleted by an outage.
